Computer Repair

Fast, no-nonsense computer repair and IT support for businesses and professionals — PC and Mac diagnostics, data recovery, virus removal, upgrades, and managed support, on-site or remote.

01 — Approach

How we engage.

Computer repair that fixes the problem — and tells you the truth about it.SimplyRem provides computer repair, IT support, data recovery, and hardware upgrades for businesses, professionals, and the people who cannot afford to lose a day to a dead laptop. Senior technicians, honest diagnostics, and fixed pricing you hear before we start — not a vague hourly meter and a surprise at the counter. PC, Mac, or Linux; on-site at your office or remote in minutes. No upselling you a new machine when a $90 SSD would have fixed it. No "we wiped it, hope you had a backup".What we fix & support
  • Diagnostics & troubleshooting — a real diagnosis of why your computer is slow, crashing, overheating, or won\'t boot, with a fixed quote before any work begins.
  • Data recovery — recovering files from failed drives, corrupted file systems, accidental deletion, and dead laptops — before you assume it is gone.
  • Virus & malware removal — removing infections, ransomware, and adware, then closing the hole that let them in so it does not come straight back.
  • Hardware upgrades — SSD swaps, RAM upgrades, battery replacement, and the cheap fixes that make an old machine feel new instead of replacing it.
  • Screen & component repair — laptop screens, keyboards, charging ports, fans, and the physical repairs that keep a good machine in service.
  • Slow / crashing computer fixes — performance problems, boot loops, blue screens, kernel panics, and the gremlins that defeat the restart-and-pray approach.
  • Setup, migration & data transfer — new computer setup, moving your files and apps from the old machine, email and account migration, done so nothing is left behind.
  • Business IT support & managed care — ongoing support for small teams: patching, backups, account management, and a senior technician on call instead of a nephew who is "good with computers".
Why people choose our computer repair services
  • Honest diagnosis, fixed pricing. You hear what is wrong and what it costs before we start. No open-ended hourly meter, no surprise at pickup.
  • Senior technicians. The person fixing your machine has fixed thousands — not a trainee learning on your data. The same studio runs enterprise infrastructure; your laptop gets that level of competence.
  • Your data is treated like it matters. We back up before we touch anything risky, and we tell you honestly when a repair threatens your files — because we have seen what "we just reinstalled Windows" does to people.
  • We will tell you when not to repair. Sometimes the machine is not worth fixing. We will say so, and help you choose and set up a replacement instead of charging you to delay the inevitable.
  • On-site or remote. Many problems we solve remotely in minutes. For the rest, we come to your office — no unplugging everything and hauling it to a strip-mall counter.
  • Fast turnaround. We know a broken computer is a stopped business. Most repairs are same-day or next-day, and we keep you informed the whole way.
  • Stay-on support. Many clients keep us on a light support plan so the next problem is a quick call, not a scramble to find someone trustworthy.
Repair, upgrade, or replace — what makes sense? We give you the honest answer, even when it is not the most profitable one for us. Repair makes sense when a single component has failed on an otherwise sound machine — a drive, a screen, a battery, a fan. Upgrade makes sense more often than people think: an SSD and a RAM bump turn a sluggish five-year-old machine into a perfectly fast one for a fraction of replacement cost. Replace makes sense when the repair cost approaches the value of the machine, the platform is genuinely past it, or your needs have outgrown the hardware — and then we help you buy the right thing and migrate cleanly, not just sell you the dearest box on the shelf. How it works1. Tell us what is wrongDescribe the symptoms by phone, email, or our form. For many issues we can start remote diagnostics straight away; for hardware, we book an on-site visit or a drop-off.2. Diagnosis & fixed quoteWe diagnose the real cause — not the first guess — and give you a fixed quote and a realistic timeline before any work begins. No work happens without your go-ahead.3. Backup & repairWe back up your data before anything risky, then carry out the repair, upgrade, or recovery. We keep you posted, and if we discover something else along the way, we call before spending your money.4. Test & handoverWe test the fix properly — not just "it boots" — confirm your data is intact, and hand the machine back with a plain-English summary of what was wrong and how to avoid it next time.5. Follow-up & supportWe stand behind the work, and many clients move onto a light support plan so the next issue is a five-minute call. We would rather be your trusted technician than a one-time transaction. What we work on
  • Platforms: Windows PCs and laptops, Apple Mac (MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio), and Linux workstations.
  • Hardware: SSD and NVMe upgrades, RAM, batteries, screens, keyboards, fans, power supplies, and thermal service.
  • Data: recovery from failed HDDs and SSDs, corrupted file systems, accidental deletion; backup setup so it does not happen again.
  • Software: OS reinstalls and repair, driver and update issues, malware removal, and application troubleshooting.
  • Networking & peripherals: Wi-Fi and connectivity issues, printers, and the small-office gear that never quite behaves — backed by our networking practice.
  • Business fleets: standardised setup, imaging, and ongoing support for small-team computer fleets.
Who we helpOur computer repair clients are small businesses and professional offices that cannot afford downtime, freelancers and creatives whose machine is their livelihood, and busy people who want an honest technician rather than a counter that upsells. We also support growing teams that have outgrown ad-hoc fixes and want a real point of contact for IT — without hiring a full-time person. If a computer is costing you time or money, that is exactly what we are here for.Pricing
  • Diagnostics — flat fee, credited toward the repair if you proceed. You always know the problem before you commit to a fix.
  • Standard repairs & upgrades — fixed price quoted up front (e.g. SSD upgrade, virus removal, battery or screen replacement), parts included in the quote.
  • Data recovery — quoted after evaluation, priced by difficulty; no-recovery, no-fee on standard cases.
  • On-site visits — flat call-out plus fixed or hourly labour, agreed before we arrive.
  • Business support plans — monthly, covering a set number of machines with priority response, patching, and backups.

04 — Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does computer repair cost?

It depends on the problem, but you always get a fixed quote before any work starts. Diagnostics is a flat fee that we credit toward the repair if you proceed. Common fixes — an SSD upgrade, virus removal, a battery or screen replacement — are quoted up front with parts included, so there is never a surprise at pickup. If a machine is not worth repairing, we will tell you honestly.

Can you recover data from a dead or failed hard drive?

Often, yes — do not assume it is gone. We recover files from failed hard drives and SSDs, corrupted file systems, accidental deletion, and dead laptops. We evaluate the drive first and quote based on difficulty, and on standard cases we work no-recovery, no-fee. The most important thing: stop using the drive and bring it to us before anything overwrites the data.

My computer is really slow — do I need a new one?

Usually not. The most common cause of a slow computer is an old mechanical hard drive, too little RAM, or a malware infection — all fixable for a fraction of replacement cost. An SSD upgrade alone makes most five-year-old machines feel new again. We will diagnose the real cause and tell you honestly whether a cheap upgrade fixes it or whether it is genuinely time to replace.

Do you repair both PCs and Macs?

Yes — Windows PCs and laptops, Apple Macs (MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio), and Linux workstations. Senior technicians who know all three platforms, so you do not have to find a separate specialist depending on what you own.

Will I lose my files when you repair my computer?

Not if we can help it. We back up your data before doing anything risky, and we tell you honestly when a repair threatens your files so you can decide. We have seen too many people lose everything to a careless "we just reinstalled Windows" — that is not how we work.

Can you fix my computer remotely, or do I have to bring it in?

Many software, performance, malware, and configuration problems we solve remotely — often the same day, often in minutes. Hardware problems (drives, screens, batteries, fans) need hands on the machine, so for those we come to your office on-site or arrange a drop-off. We will tell you which yours is when you describe the symptoms.

How fast can you fix it?

We know a broken computer is a stopped business, so most repairs are same-day or next-day once we have the machine and your go-ahead. Remote fixes can be immediate. Parts-dependent repairs (a specific screen or battery) take as long as the part takes to arrive — and we tell you that timeline up front, not after.

Do you offer ongoing IT support for small businesses?

Yes. Many small teams keep us on a monthly support plan covering a set number of machines with priority response, patching, backups, and account management — a senior technician on call instead of whoever happens to be "good with computers". It turns the next problem into a quick call rather than a scramble to find someone you trust.
